I've done these without much difficulty and the only advice I could give is try an Minion Master and a Spiteful Spirit curser. If you have 2 Nec heroes, go with one of each, if not then go MM. Hook up the SS with Mark of Pain. This skill is leathal with minions around. Also give the SS Awaken the Blood. I also would give the MM, Animate Bone Fiends and Minions, and Death Nova just to spice things up. hehe. Pull carefully and try to clump the groups up as much as possible.

Take an Interupt and Throw Dirt and u should be fine Throw Dirt as soon as enemies clump together to attack targets, the more the better, but make sure not to use to too late (like after theve killed allys) Use the interupt on the Eles Metoer showers, cycleing through targets upon 1st enganging in combat to make sure u interupt all the Eles in teh enemy party form casting it.

Hero wise take a Healer with decent energy maintainence, a MM to soak up damage, and a Mesmer or SS Necro (generally i prefer the Mesmer) For my own build i had: Glass arrows, Triple shot, Duel Shot, Forked Arrow, Savage Shot, Throw Dirt, Troll and Rebirth or Renew Life

I had a good bit of luck on those missions with an odd little build that has carried me through a lot of hard mode. Go R/Me and your build should look like this:

Apply Poison
BHA
Empathy
Cry of Pain / Distracting Shot
(only take Cry if you have 10 Sunspear rank... otherwise it costs too much)
Throw Dirt
Tiger Fury
(Don't invest points in Beast Mastery... just take it to start off BHA)
Troll Ungent
SS Sig of Rebirth

On most of the Char areas, you can get the Char hunters to shoot at you through a wall.... throw up Empathy and watch them eat themselves... If they bunch, use Cry of Pain to hit multiple Char for 100 dmg. My group wiped while doing Ft Ranik and I (who had already used my Sig) had to finish the mission by myself. It is a pretty durable build with some practice.... Biggest problem will be the Char Necros usually.

You could play with the build some too.... Tigers Fury is probably a waste, and Empathy and Cry together can eat your energy pretty fast. I use a poison bow with +5 energy, and full radiant gear. That helps some. You can also salvage a +20% vs Char bowgrip off of the collector bow found in Piken Square, which helps.

I like a ZB prot hero personally. A necro hero for me is a must (SS or MM) although I'm not great at putting together mesmer builds, so that is your call. A warior helps in some of those missions, and if you have a sword hero, you can also get a +20% vs Char mod from that same collector in Piken Square.

Hope that helps some.

Nolani Academy's only hard part was the bonus and clearing out the front and even then it wasn't that hard. Our group had a tank (me with Dolyak), monk, nuker and MM. I pretty much just ran in, used dolyak and teh other followed and killed everything. Be sure to take the mages with you since their firepower is very useful, also if you see any lost soldiers or w/e make sure to take them. They make the last part (once Rurik activates Stormbringer) VERY easy. I had like 4 or 5 Lost soldiers and they just ate through the Charr

Oh that reminds me another hint, dont bother following Rurik after u get to Rin during Nolani Academy, instead go the other path, kill 1 mob then the boss and u complete the mission faster and easier.

Look after you heros, once they gain DP it goes from relativly easy to OMG all they do is die! by which point its becomes hard to do anything in the 4 man partys. Eg The Charr Fiends Charge your monks, Blind them asap, dont just let the charr pummell them into oblivion.
